Blake McCandless is an American driver, Twitch streamer, and broadcast commentator for iRacing, eRacr.gg, MOONCAR, and several other broadcasting ventures. He is the current Color Analyst for the eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series, joining Evan Posocco in the booth for the 2022 season. Outside of the sim, he is the Track Announcer at Ace Speedway in Altamahaw, NC. He is the grandson of legendary drag racer Herb "Mr. 4-Speed" McCandless. Known primarily for his pit reporting and color analysis, McCandless' broadcasting has drawn attention from some of NASCAR's biggest names, and earned recognition on platforms such as the Dale Jr. Download.

Biography

McCandless started broadcasting races on the iRacing competitive ladder in 2020, covering the eNASCAR iRacing Road to Pro Series campaign. He served as color for the 2020-2021 NASCAR iRacing Pro Series later that year.

In 2021, he made his first appearances as a part of the eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series broadcast team, acting as a host and analyst for the newly formed Countdown to Green pre-race show. He made his booth debut later that season at Road America, returning in the Playoffs for the penultimate round at Talladega.

Amidst his broadcasting duties in 2021, McCandless attempted to qualify for the 2022 eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series for Kligerman Sport. He became most well-known for his unorthodox strategy calls, such as going an entire 35 lap race at Watkins Glen without pitting. He successfully transferred through Round 1 of the eNASCAR Road to Pro Qualifying iRacing Series, placing 14th. After sitting 69th in the standings (out of 70) through the first two races in Round 2, he ended up 20th, not securing the final transfer spot until the last lap of the final race at Phoenix. McCandless finished 29th in the 2021-2022 eNASCAR Road to Pro Contender Series, 8 spots behind the final transfer spot.

In 2017, McCandless graduated from Gardner-Webb University with a degree in Sport Management, after serving as a manager for the men's basketball team for 4 years. In 2020, he earned his Masters of Business Administration from the same school.
