RaceKraft Esports (RKE) is an international sim racing team based on the iRacing.com simulator service. Founded by Brian Lockwood and Mehdi El Fathy in 2017 with no high-level experience, few connections, and only a shared passion for simracing, the team (formerly called RaceKraft Engineering) was solely a Skip Barber F2000 team for its first year – earning a championship and 3rd place in the top Skippy league (the 2K World Cup) – before moving on to the F3 at the start of 2019 and dominating the season of its release, achieving a few World Records at the time.
Since then, they have shifted their focus to entering the highest level of iRacing’s esports scene, such as the 2019 Sports Car Open GT Series and the 2019-2020 24H SERIES ESPORTS.

History

2017

After a few weeks of talks between Mehdi and Brian, RaceKraft Engineering was created in July 2017 in order to compete on iRacing. Early focus was done on the management part while competing in various Mazda MX-5 Cup and Skip Barber Formula 2000 events.

2018

RaceKraft participated in its first few events as a team, most notably the Skip Barber 12H of Watkins Glen, with the team grabbing a podium. The team involvement in the 2K World Cup was getting more and more important, as Brian Lockwood won the 1st season of the year in a very tight field. The recruitment of Andrew Procario, an accustomed Skip Barber driver, reinforced the roster mid-way through the year, whereas real-life GT World Challenge driver James Pull joined a few months later.
The team's main breakthrough was during the introduction of the Dallara Formula 3 car on iRacing, where RaceKraft managed to be one of the top teams, thanks to a close collaboration with The Racing Network, a team comprising core drivers Marko Nurmela, Alex Hadjivarnava, Richard Allsopp and John Miller III

2019

The first iRacing Formula 3 season ending in the first few months of 2019 was the team's best season since the beginning, thanks to multiple world records chased during the official races, and culminated with the first championship won by new team member Kane Halliburton, alongside race wins in the World F3 Championship league.
The iRacing 24H of Daytona was the first official Special Event the team partaked in, fielding two GT3 cars in a joint venture alongside The Racing Network. The first car (Team Yellow) drove in top split for the main time slot, qualifying in 4th position before an incident in the 1st hour meant they had to retire. The second car (Team Green) wasn't as lucky as it got caught in internet throughput issues in Split 4 and couldn't start the race. An extra time slot opened by iRacing made it possible for both cars to run, and Team Yellow took advantage of this by winning the race, having the third fastest lap time of all splits/time slots. Unfortunately Team Green had to drop out of the race after 6 hours.
